2. The Basics

Leveling Up

Manage classes, levels, and level up in the Character Tab on your character sheet.

Level Up

  • Open the Character Tab.
  • Press the a Level Up button next to the appropriate class to level up.
  • Or, change to a specific level with the level dropdown.

Add a Class

  • Switch your sheet to Edit Mode using the lock switch in the top left.
  • Open the Character Tab.
  • Press the Add Class button to add search for a new class across Compendiums in your world.
  • Press the Custom Class button to add a new custom class.

 

Play and Edit Modes

Tidy gives players and DMs easy ways to view or edit sheets.

  • Play Mode: Locked mode for normal gameplay.
  • Edit Mode: Unlocked mode for editing character or item details.

Important

Players default to Play Mode. DMs default to Edit Mode.

  • Switch modes using the Lock Switch in the top left of a sheet.
  • Add a keyboard shorcut to toggle modes using the Toggle Sheet Lock setting in Foundry's Configure Controls settings. We recommend setting this to L to quickly switch modes.
  • View or Edit an item from the Context Menu.
  • Double-click an item row to View.
  • Middle-click an item to Edit, including from Play Mode.

 

Context Menus

The Context Menu for items across your sheet gives quick access to all the most commonly used actions for an item.

  • View [sheet]
  • Edit [sheet]
  • Attune / Unattune (Magic Items)
  • Equip / Unequip (Equipment Items)
  • Favorite / Remove Favorite (from the Sidebar)
  • Display in Chat
  • Duplicate
  • Remove from Sheet Tab
  • Choose a Section (per tab)
  • Delete

Special Item Actions

  • Set as Inspiration Source (Features if Banked Inspiration on)
  • Create Scroll (Spell)
  • Create Tattoo (Spell)
  • Enable / Disable [Effect]

Sheet Context Menu

The sheet Context Menu, the three-dot overflow menu in the top right of each sheet, has additional Tidy-specific settings.

  • Tidy Theme Settings to apply a custom theme to your sheet.
  • Tab Selection to choose and rearrange tabs for the active sheet / document.

 

Drag and Drop

Tidy 5e Sheets support extensive drag and drop functionality. Drag and drop to:

  • Rearrange items within a section
  • Move items to another section
  • Add a Favorite to the Sidebar
  • Rearrange Favorites in the sidebar
  • Copy items to other characters
  • Create spell scrolls when dropping spells into the Inventory tab
  • Items can be reorganized within sheets
  • Add / Remove items from Containers, when expanded inline or in a Container sheet

 

Expanding Items

Expand items quickly in your sheet top see activites and details by clicking the name.

  • Item summaries and descriptions with activities
  • Inline container contents and nested containers
  • Activity details
  • Effect details
