Normal Save

• Open file e.g. Xyz.txt

• Make changes e.g. write content ABC

• Save it e.g. file will have ABC

• Open file e.g. Xyz.txt

• Make changes e.g. write content CDE

• Save it e.g. file will have CDE

Problem?
Changes can't be tracked.
Every changes is overriding with new one.

Version Control

• Open file e.g. Xyz.txt

• Make changes e.g. write content ABC

• Give title e.g. title as "First commit"

• Save it e.g. file will have ABC

• Open file e.g. Xyz.txt

• Make changes e.g. write content CDE

• Give title e.g. title as "Update content"

• Save it e.g. file will have CDE

File will also have history aka versions

Versions:

• First commit id: 38fca...
• Update content id: 326ab... <- HEAD

Tools:

• GIT - version control tool

Web storage:

• GitHub
• GitLab

Version Control via Git

• Open file

• Make changes

• Select files - aka stage

• With title, save - aka commit with title

• Upload to GitHub - aka push or sync
