Welcome to the cxadc modifyed driver wiki!
This is the CXADC Wiki maintained primarily by harrypm (harry@opcomedia.com), Inside this wiki and its pages, you will find genaral informationm alongside technical guidance and notations for modifying CX cards.
Practically all TV/Multimedia decoder chips have Analogue to Digital conversion in real-time onboard as video chips conform to 4fsc 14.3Mhz NTSC and 17.9Mhz PAL in 16-bit samples standard, for the most part, this makes them perfect for SDR and other applications.
Thanks to this fact and that these chips have a "RAW16" testing mode to allow raw samples to be output then captured.
This opens up a large amount of data capture potential as a capture and review later oscilloscope or even more ambitious goals such as post decoding of raw signal data like in the LD-Decode & VHS-Decode project's archiving media with absolute preservation, this is the main driving force for the continued advancement of this driver and the cheap hardware around it.
