Media Gallery

It would be useful to have a Media Gallery node type, where we can select uploaded assets from the media gallery.
Primary use case being for serving static content such as Guides/Brochures/Technical Specs etc in PDF/Image format.

I imagine it would function the same as the custom url, just with the Media Gallery picker to select / upload the asset.

Thank you for proposing this new functionality. I have created an internal ticket SMM-44 and we will evaluate whether implementing a new node type is necessary or if the existing CMS block type can provide similar functionality.
You can also create a PR with the suggested changes and we will review it for potential inclusion in one of the upcoming menu module releases.
