REDIS and Memcached errors

Trying to get my website setup to cache using either Redis or Memcached for Object and Database caching with W3TotalCache. I'm having troubles with both.

Website was created via: (my website address replaces %%www.mywebsite.com%%)
ee site create %%www.mywebsite.com%% --type=wp --ssl=le --cache --php=latest

When I have Memcached on for database and/or object caching I get the following error in wordpress:
Database Cache: 127.0.0.1:11211.
Object Cache: 127.0.0.1:11211.

When I have redis on for database and/or object caching I get the following flooding my php error log:
PHP message: Connection refused
