Testing functions that are iterated multiple times

Some functions, like calc_fock_matrix and calc_tot_energy, are iterated multiple times, and have a different value each time.
How can we make our assert statements reflect this?

Just the initial test to make sure that it works, testing the iterative workflow would be "functional testing".
